The Workers’ Council of El Sol is an elected group of members who meet once a month to discuss topics to improve the center. They address what the workers are looking for so that El Sol can continue to provide the services needed. In doing so, the Workers’ Council helps the workers know that El Sol is there to assist them in any way possible.
Men and women registered in El Sol’s labor program elect representatives for the center’s Workers’ Council. Members meet once a month to plan events and brainstorm ways to improve the center for their fellow day laborers.
Members serve on the Workers’ Council for two years and the president serves as the voice of El Sol day laborers at board of directors meetings.
