Alexandra (Alexa) Turner relocated from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. A recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, she is ready to begin a new chapter in Jupiter, Florida. Alexa majored in Political Science and minored in Jewish Studies.
Since her trips to El Salvador and the Dominican Republic, she has sought to spread the word about the importance of civic engagement and community involvement. Alexa joined El Sol as the Community Resource Developer in May 2015. As part of her duties, she will oversee the start of the Garden Market; an earned-income strategy to help raise funds for the Sunshine Organic Community Garden and other programs. “I’m stoked to be a part of the effort to make healthy and affordable food more attainable for all of Jupiter’s residents!” said Alexa.
For fun, she enjoys learning new languages, volunteering, reading, and knitting. After her year at El Sol, she hopes to continue to advocate for those affected by injustice.
